Counseling ServicesRonnie Kolotkin, Ph.D.Dr. Ronette "Ronnie" Kolotkin is a licensed psychologist with over 25 years of experience, specializing in weight and eating issues, particularly as they relate to quality of life. She both practices and teaches a wide array of emotional/behavioral skills that facilitate maintenance of a healthy weight and lifestyle. Ronnie's interest in obesity began in childhood when, as a fat kid, she experienced teasing and ridicule from others. For over 15 years, Ronnie directed the Behavioral Health Program at Duke University's Diet and Fitness Center. In addition to her work with individual clients, Ronnie also conducts group psycho-educational sessions at the Diet and Fitness Center and the Rice Diet Program. Recently, Dr. Kolotkin gave an interview on NPR on "Sexual Intimacy and Weight." She also has created a CD entitled "Healthy Thoughts" that contains over 70 positive affirmations to help you take charge of your health and life. Depending on type of insurance coverage, individual sessions may be reimbursable in part. Sliding scale is also offered.
